Elegant Brie is a unique and truly delicious baked brie appetizer. This gourmet delight combines creamy brie cheese-rind removed, fresh filling ingredients, and a flaky crust to create the perfect hors d'oeuvre. 

 

Baking Instructions

Standard Oven:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees – position cooking racks at optimal levels.

Remove outer plastic packaging and place brie appetizer on a pie tin (ideal) or cookie sheet (with an edge)  lined with the parchment paper (included).*

Place your Elegant Brie on oven rack that is positioned in the middle of the oven. (Avoid the very bottom position in the oven as to not burn the bottom of the appetizer.)

Cook the brie for about 35 (defrosted) -45 (frozen) minutes or until the outer puff pastry reaches your desired level of golden brown. Baking time will vary by oven - keep a close eye on the brie during the cooking process to ensure you don’t go beyond “golden” brown  - this is a hot oven.

Remove Elegant Brie from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.  Slide brie off the pie tin onto desired serving dish.

 

Baking Instructions

Frozen or Defrosted:

You can bake your Elegant Brie appetizer frozen or you can defrost in your refrigerator over night.  Follow the instructions below.

* TIP: If you are worried your oven might cause the bottom of the brie to brown too fast, you can double the pie tin or double the cookie sheet

DON’T worry if some of the cheese oozes out!  It’s all melted cheese goodness.  If brie does leak out it will collect around the base of the appetizer and you should scoop it up and serve.

Convection Oven:

Reduce baking temperature according to your manufacturer's direction.  The brie bakes extremely well in a convection oven.

Barbecue Grill: 

Indirect heat method.  Place Elegant Brie appetizer on a pie tin or cast iron skillet on the grill, making sure that the appetizer is not directly above heat source.  Close barbecue lid and when appetizer is golden brown remove.  Barbecue's are extremely hot so check your Elegant Brie frequently to prevent burning!


Taking to a Party

Bake the brie at home as per above directions.  Cover baked brie loosely with foil to keep warm during transportation.  If necessary, re-warm the brie in the microwave oven for a few seconds before serving or place in a warm oven for a few minutes.


Design Uneven?

If part of the pastry design comes out of the oven uneven, poke the inflated area with a toothpick or sharp knife so the design settles appropriately back into place as it cools.
